Would you like to know God personally, but don’t know how? It’s really not complicated. God’s Word, the Bible, spells it out plainly.

God loves you and has a wonderful plan for you. He wants you to know him and spend eternity with him.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16 WEB

Jesus said to him, ‘I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.’

John 10:10 WEB

But sin has separated us from God, and we need his forgiveness for it.

Deep down, we sense that separation. We know that we have gone our own way and strayed from God and his ways. Our conscience tells us when we do wrong or have a rebellious or indifferent attitude toward the Lord. And deep down, we long to get back to him.

For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23 WEB

Jesus is the only way for us to return to God, our heavenly Father. He alone makes it possible for us to have a close relationship with God.

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

John 14:6 WEB

Jesus paid the penalty for our sin by dying on the cross for it. But then he rose from the dead and returned to heaven, where he now awaits us.

But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8 WEB

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures… was buried… was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures and…then appeared to all the apostles.

1 Corinthians 15:3-7 WEB

And now he is calling us back to himself.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.

Revelation 3:20 WEB

We must answer his call, and in faith personally receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Then we experience a new birth. We are born again spiritually into a life of meaning and purpose.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB

But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name:

John 1:12 WEB

Then we must daily grow in our new life and relationship with God, through prayer, Bible reading, and Scripture meditation. And by connecting with other believers in a Bible-believing church.

Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and need you. I am ready to turn from my sin and receive you into my heart and life. Please come into my life, take control of it, and make me into the kind of person you want me to be.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

By praying this in sincerity, you will become a new creation in Christ, ready to grow in your new relationship and experience his abundant life.
